It borders the states of Uttar Pradesh to the Northeast, Gujarat to the west, Chhattisgarh to the southeast, Maharashtra to the south and Rajasthan to the Northwest. Earlier when Chhattisgarh was a part of Madhya Pradesh-this state was known as the largest state of India.





Bhopal is the capital city whereas Indore is the largest city. Besides it, few of the major cities are – Jabalpur, Gwalior and Ujjain. In total there are 51 districts in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
